EnterVue:Pediatrics© Rolls Out to first Practice
After approximately one month in service, EnterVue:Pediatrics© has been running at a satellite practice of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
The office, covering an average well patient load of 10 per doctor, per day, has been integral in the further development of the EnterVue© product. The satellite practice agreed to work along side lead investigators and implementation experts on the EnterVue© team. EnterVue© in turn has been able to enhance its product through valuable feedback at point of care.
The mid-size practice consisting of approximately 10 pediatricians, 3 front desk staff, and a number of Medical Assistants and Nurses was the first practice to complete the EnterVue© implementation. After more than two months of usage, the practice has exhibited tremendous results.
EnterVue© has covered questions and question sets in all of its current categories. Developmental, Safety, Behavioral, Screening, and Anticipatory Guidance topics were covered. A table displaying the increase in topics addressed (as documented by doctor's on their Physical Examination forms) is below:
Increases in Topics addressed Vs. Pre EnterVue© Enhanced visits:
* Developmental 9.38%
* Anticipatory 56.10%
* Safety 147.54%
* Behavioral 50.00%
* Screening 368.18%
In addition, blanket chart reviews covering more than five doctors, and more than 14 age groups revealed that an average increase of 76%, or 1.26x more topics have been covered by doctors whose patients completed EnterVue© sessions.
Doctors are documenting, and are currently communicating with EnterVue© staff, to provide enhancements to the system. These enhancements have been suggested both for the practice's own customization of the software, and to cover global considerations that may arise as additional practices are added.
Early satisfaction surveys and observational sessions have supported seamless office integration goals. Parents have reported ease of use and a high degree of comfort as key positive points in their completing an EnterVue© session. Usefulness of information and greater satisfaction with doctor discussions have been realized by parents during their visit with the doctor.
The EnterVue© development team plans next to operate in a large scale primary care facility in February 2002. Once complete, a third practice will be chosen in an effort to round out case scenarios. Current and future assessment will provide insight on doctor/staff/ parent satisfaction, time analysis, and demographic/ sociographic impacts on EnterVue© as a product. Research, surveys, statistics, results, and lessons learned will be presented once all three practices are fully implemented, and have been running for at least one month.
